Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Michigan Home Calcs LLC ("Michigan Home Calcs," "we," "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use michiganhomecalcs.com. It is part of our Terms of Use.

The short version: Our calculators work without an account. If you ask to be connected with a professional, we send your request, including your contact details, to up to 4 participating professionals per service you request, and they pay us for it. They may then call, text, or email you. We also use cookies for analytics and advertising. You can opt out of contact at any time.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us.

  • When you submit a request form: your name, email, phone number, ZIP code, county, which professionals you want to hear from, and the details you entered in the calculator (for example, home price, project size, or finish level).
  • When you use our contact form: your name, email, subject, and message.
  • When a business applies or signs up as a partner: business and contact details, coverage area, licensing, insurance, and billing information.

Information collected automatically.

  • Your IP address and the approximate location (city and state) derived from it, your browser and device type, the pages you view, the page you submitted from, referring site, and the date and time.
  • Cookies and similar technologies set by us and by our analytics and advertising providers (see Section 6).

Records of your consent.

  • When you submit a request, we keep a record of the exact consent and terms wording you agreed to, together with the time, your IP address, device, and the page, so we can prove what you agreed to.

2. How we use information

  • To send your request to the professionals you asked to hear from, and to send you a confirmation.
  • To respond to your messages and requests.
  • To run, secure, and improve the site, and to understand how it is used.
  • To show advertising.
  • To prevent fraud, spam, and abuse, and to keep records of consent.
  • To bill partners, enforce our agreements, and comply with the law.

3. How we share information

With professionals who pay us. When you submit a request, you direct us to share it, including your name, phone, email, location, and project or calculator details, with up to 4 participating professionals for each type of service you request (such as real estate agents, lenders, insurance agents, or home-improvement contractors) who serve your area. They pay us a fee for each request. This is a sale of your information for that purpose. Each professional is an independent business that uses your information under its own privacy practices. Our agreements require them to use it only to respond to your request, not to resell or share it, and to honor your opt-out.

With service providers who run parts of the site for us and may only use the information to provide their services: Vercel (website hosting, site analytics, and performance measurement), Neon (database), Resend (email delivery), and Google (Google Analytics and Google AdSense advertising).

For legal and safety reasons, when we believe it is required by law, subpoena, or court order, or needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our users, or others.

In a business transfer, such as a sale, merger, or reorganization, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

We do not sell your information to data brokers or for purposes unrelated to your request.

4. Calls, texts, and emails, and how to stop them

If you consent on a request form, we and the professionals who receive your request may contact you by phone, text, and email, including by automated technology and prerecorded messages, even if your number is on a Do Not Call list. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. To stop:

  • Reply STOP to any text message.
  • Tell any caller you do not want further calls.
  • Use the unsubscribe or reply option in any email.
  • Email us at hello@michiganhomecalcs.com. We will stop contacting you and, if you ask, let the professionals who received your request know you have opted out. Because each professional handles its own communications, please also tell them directly.

5. Your choices and rights

You may ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing hello@michiganhomecalcs.com. We may need to verify your identity first. We will delete or correct what we hold, except records we must keep for legal reasons, such as proof of your consent. We cannot delete copies already sent to professionals, but we will pass your request along to them. If the law of your state gives you additional privacy rights, we will honor them.

6. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, measure traffic and performance, and show advertising. A cookie is a small file stored on your device. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as intended.

These providers may collect information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and pages viewed, and may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policies.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, opt out of third-party vendor cookies through the Digital Advertising Alliance, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on. 7. How long we keep information

We keep request and consent records for up to five years, so we can show what you agreed to and handle any questions or disputes, and then delete or anonymize them. We keep contact-form messages only as long as needed to respond, and partner and billing records as long as needed for our business and legal obligations.

8. How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections, access controls, and password-protected administration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by Michigan law and other applicable law.

10. Where we operate

The site is intended for people in the United States, primarily Michigan, and your information is stored and processed in the United States.
